In 2009, we conducted a survey of genetic counselors, program directors and students to inform us of expressed needs of the major target populations. While the survey was not a research project, a summary of the general trends and ideas to our questions follows. The responses provided helpful insight for developing the content and formulating the instructional design of the Genetic Counseling Cultural Competence Toolkit.
