About Us  Rationale for Project  | Advisory Group  |  Peer Review Process

This resource would not have been possible without the explicit support of the Jane Engelberg Memorial Fellowship of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. The members of the JEMF Advisory Board and the leadership of the National Society of Genetic Counselors were engaged and supportive of this project in many ways. They helped bring the final grant outcome to fruition on the NSGC website, as a new online Category 1 genetic counseling CEU opportunity.

It has been a privilege to be the 2009 recipient of the JEMF Award. The members of the JEMF Advisory Board and the leadership of the National Society of Genetic Counselors were engaged and supportive of this project in many ways. They helped bring the final grant outcome to fruition on the NSGC website, as a new online Category 1 genetic counseling CEU opportunity.

I owe many thanks for having reached this final project outcome to Carol Turner. She developed the Genetic Counseling Cultural Competence website design and provided the necessary technical expertise, which she tolerantly offered with endurance for the “evolution” of the scope of the project. Thanks, Carol, for sticking with this project through our respective transitions.

I also want to thank the University of Cincinnati students listed in the "Peer Review" section. The students identified and reviewed resources, wrote and formatted documents, and bantered back and forth with me on many topics.

Thanks to the many counselors, genetics colleagues and friends who supported me in the implementation of this project. Lastly, thanks to my husband Ray and my three wonderful adult children, Sarah, Ariel and Jacob. Each in their own way contributed to and supported my focus on this project for the past two years.
